A Few Updates
Due to a combination of school starting again and a few crazy weeks at work, I haven’t had a chance to write anything lately.
Also Sami and I recently got engaged after five and a half years of dating!
Anyways, obviously quite a bit is happening right now in the world. Tensions with Russia over Ukraine are in the news. Build Back Better (BBB) seems to be dead in its current form, though there are talks about changing the package to get the crucial parts regarding climate and healthcare through the Senate (and maybe Universal Pre-K). The polling for Democrats continues to suggest the 2022 midterms will be a disaster for them. Additionally, Democrats didn’t have a strategy to pass their voting rights agenda, as all 50 Republicans and two Democrats voted against abolishing the filibuster. Not to mention all 50 Republicans voted against the voting rights bills in general — technically Senators Sinema (D-AZ) and Manchin (D-WV) voted for the bills in “Regular” order. And the Omicron variant appears to be waning in the east coast, while running across most of the other parts of the country.
I’ll have more to say on those things (and other topics) later. But just thought you should know I’ve been a little busy working on other things lately.
